sigga og sölva
Hello everyone.
Sölva had a very succesful birthday. We had her party on friday and just the right amount of people showed up. We still have two cakes in the fridge though. Jeff is going away for four days, he's going to visit his family in North Carolina. Meanwhile me and the kids will entertain ourselves, enough to do in this huge city, so many choices.
I'm going to the icelandic þorrablót on saturday, I'll get to chow down on some shark, sheep testicles and brennivin, should be tasty, mmmm.
love to all

A busy week
We are still here, doing well, enjoying the big city.
Sunday a week ago Darcy came to New York, yes the WT is growing in NY!
Tuesday we had hired Jonathan to babysit, we went with Darcy to a gallery opening in Chelsea. Hrafnhildur aka Shoplifter was there with a piece along with lots of other artists. She'ld done this white braided huge hairpiece, I think it's fun, she also hung it up on the wall in a great pattern. Sorry I'm not a good artcritic! I just know when I like it or don't.
We went into the west village to dine, not really my kind of scene, but we had good food, and good company.
Last week I was trying to help Darcy find a sublet or a roomate situation. We went to Williamsburg on wednesday to look at a room my friend Mauricio had for rent in his apartment. The room was good, but Darcy decided to go with a place in Park Slope that is also furnished. Mauricio took us around to see a little bit of the hip and cool Williamsburg, it was fun, lots of young people, little holes in the walls, with music streaming out of them. Unfortunatly we had to take the bus home, first had to wait on the bus for 30 minutes, then ride for another 30 min, but luckily it stops right outside our house. Nick and Jo were hanging out when we got in, we got to chat with them before heading to bed.
Saturday we went to Greenpoint to see Jess, Brad, John, Monica and Taylor. Jess ahd invited us all over to have a brunch and see their new place. I like the area they live in, very quiet, doesn't feel like a big city at all.
Us girls had fun catching up, I think the boys could have had more fun, next time we now to leave the girls to do their own thing and then get the boys involved. It was really great I hadn't seen Monica for two years and she had not seen the kids for four years. We just had a lot of talking to do. In the evening we all went out to dinner, and then we all split up into different cabs to get home and rest, my jaw was about to fall off!
Sunday was supposed to be icelandic school, but the whole thing got a little tangled up, we had already invited people over for brunch, Ellen, Edward and the boys still came, they even brought Otis along. Renda, Darcy and Nick joined as well. The brunch lasted for five hours so fifty coffiecups later and all the contents of our refrigirator gone it was time to split up the gang.
Me and Darcy had some shopping to do, went to Manhattan, spent a little money, not to much since we just settled for H&M! Got home, ordered sushi, got the kids setled in bed after they had savored their california rolls. We did what every couple should do, just as a social research on relationships in general, we watched Brokaback Mountain.
Last night we went to the opening of the Doug Aitken show at The Moma. It was so crowded, with such an interesting mix of people. We went to the afterparty and the after-afterparty. Loads of fun, we got to know Peter, Jeff's boss a bit better.
Poor Jeff had to work this morning, but he made it, I just chilled at home.
Ahh, what a crazy, fun week.
It's not even all that happened, but I'll stop my rambling now
love yall

Happy New Year
We went to the rooftop tonight to see the fireworks from Prospect Park. The kids fell asleep around 11:00 and we couldn't wake them up, no matter how much we tried. The clock stroke twelve and the fireworks went off, along with gunshots way too close for comfort. Talk about living in a third world country.
Gotta love Brooklyn.
We love you all, miss you all and wish you a happy new year!
Takk fyrir það gamla (Thanks for last year)
