The sick family
We have all been sick, first Jeff, then Sölva, Reginn and finally me. Now we can move on and not get sick again till next fall.
Everything here is pretty busy, Reginn is now in an afterschool program, two days a week, not by choice, but it's to get him ready for the state wide test they have to take in Jan. He has to pass it to get to fifth grade, ahhhhhh pressure. They're also starting swimming lessons in a couple of weeks, they're really happy about that, it's a shame though they don't teach that in school. And hopefully we can get Reginn started in music school in Jan. He's saved his birthday money for a drumset, I'm on Ebay every day to try to find one, both that he can afford and that's not just total crap. We got some great pointers from our dear drummer friend (thanks Addi), so we're not totally lost in this.
We have a phsycologist coming over on sunday to start the re-evaluation of Reginn, she's a dutch woman, for some reason they wanted a english /dutch speaking person or an english/icelandic speaking, because Reginn didn't pass some english test at school. That should be interesting.
Jeff's busy at work, he has a routine going on alright, home by dinner though which is a good thing for us. Things wouldn't be the same if we couldn't sit down every evening as a regular family.
I'm staying busy, I feel like a housewife, ups, sorry, I am a housewife....
It's a very strange feeling, I'm really happy I'm at home though, don't get me wrong, it's important to get these kids settled properly and I also started knitting, other than that I try as much as I can to meet up with other people, get the haircutting promoted and clean the house. Amazing how much time I actually can spend on just thinking about cleaning though, always hard for me to get started. I think it's a malfunction in my brain, after living in the slum apartment in Holland and then also from always being a working mom in Iceland, cleaning is something you just do, and it shouldn't take more than half an hour and make sure you sweat alot. This whole plan thing, just doesn't cut it for me. Plus in a resent study Jeff read about, people are actually spending more time with their kids and less time on cleaning, yeah, that's the way it should be.
I still miss Holland, uhh-I need to get a bike, I guess from being sick I feel like I need to move it, get some exercise.
Alright people, greetings to all from Iceland to Japan.
miss ya
